A licensed clinical social worker with a Ph.D. in Social Work, Lori directs Family Learning Solutions, Inc. employment of practical, evidence-based practices to ensure participation among youth who have not been traditionally included in academic and social empowerment opportunities. Lori also guides the implementation of the Food Grown H

A licensed clinical social worker with a Ph.D. in Social Work, Lori directs Family Learning Solutions, Inc. employment of practical, evidence-based practices to ensure participation among youth who have not been traditionally included in academic and social empowerment opportunities. Lori also guides the implementation of the Food Grown Home project alongside Sande Lee and initiates collaborations with schools and community centers across the county to bring FGH STEM activities to youth.

Sande leads the business outreach initiatives of Family Learning Solutions, Inc. and coordinates innovative approaches to capital development. While our organization designs traditional grant proposals for submissions to various foundations, Sande connects Family Learning Solutions, Inc. to businesses and companies interested in partnering with us. Sande also serves as a co-director for the Food Grown Home project, guiding our sustainable farming initiatives with her expertise on hydroponics and indoor vertical farming. Sande has been certified by the Freight Farms Master Class program and is trained on controlled environment agriculture, farm orientation and component identification, crop management and optimization, crop growing cycles from seed to harvest, and farmhand automation software.

Beginning in elementary school, Agnes participated in the FLS entrepreneurship program and later went on to utilize her leadership skills and financial expertise to become a thriving leader in the

Agnes, owner of Waxing With Aggy and alumni of FLS’ first ‘Homework Club’, firmly believes in the power and potential of mentoring young women. Beginning in elementary school, Agnes participated in the FLS entrepreneurship program and later went on to utilize her leadership skills and financial expertise to become a thriving leader in the skincare industry. Outside of managing her successful business, Agnes mentors middle and high school girls in the community. Agnes earned her Bachelor's Degree from Howard University.

ACRT is a Latinx-centered organization that serves to deliver essential goods and services to underserved and marginalized members of the Montgomery and Prince George’s County r

Oneyda, in addition to working closely with Family Learning Solutions, Inc. as an AmeriCorps member, is the founder of the Audelia Community Response Team (ACRT). ACRT is a Latinx-centered organization that serves to deliver essential goods and services to underserved and marginalized members of the Montgomery and Prince George’s County region. Oneyda also assists at the Clifton Park Baptist Church to support their food rescue distributions as well as tend to their indoor hydroponic farms.

A graduate of the Montgomery Scholars Program at Montgomery College, Alexzander proudly serves as a grant writer for Family Learning Solutions, where they work alongside Dr. Melman to craft articulated grant proposals in support of their organization’s educational programming. As Assistant Creative Director of Food Grown Home, Alexzander 

A graduate of the Montgomery Scholars Program at Montgomery College, Alexzander proudly serves as a grant writer for Family Learning Solutions, where they work alongside Dr. Melman to craft articulated grant proposals in support of their organization’s educational programming. As Assistant Creative Director of Food Grown Home, Alexzander coordinates the project’s social media page, designs Food Grown Home’s original food-growing curriculum, and assists both co-directors with the creative planning of future initiatives for the project.

As a FLS intern, she manages the FGH Twitter as well as other creative tasks. Concurrently, she works as a medical assistant in Fairfax, VA. Her long-term goal is to work in the intersection betwee
